This is really starting go back a bit now but in 2003 I had a solo show at Firstdraft, called The Jesse James Murder Tree.
This was drawings and a vague sort of illstallation - a whole smal; room with walls covered in ink drawings of varying sizes with varnish dripping over them and tape linking all in a chronological sequence, and all inking down to a bidyoutline in tape on the floor. It was basically a fictional time-line of murders, starting with the man who killed Jesse James (his cousin), just to be known as the man who killed him. Then he was shot by someone else who wanted to be known as "the man who killed the man who killed Jesse James". As in like the movie that is about to come out about all that jazz. That bit is all true, but I just illustrated a fictional continuation on that theme.
So it was "The guy who killed the guy who killed the guy who drowned the girl who poisoned the man who shot the woman who mowed down the man who killed the man who shot the horse who trampled the vicar who stabbed.........andsoonandsoforth................ Jesse James.
Sorry again these photos are so grainy and odd. But you get the gist.
